Microsoft Windows SQL Server 2017 Standard — installation

Step 1: Download the Installer

Go to the official Microsoft Evaluation Center:

microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/evaluate-sql-server-2017-rtm

Download the installer — you may perform an immediate Basic installation of the SQL Engine, a full Custom installation, or download the media only as an ISO file Microsoft

Step 2: Run the Installer

Double-click the downloaded installer or Setup.exe from the ISO

The install package automatically starts the SQL Server Installation Center Microsoft

Select "New SQL Server standalone installation or add features to an existing instance"

Step 3: Enter Your Product Key

When prompted, select "Enter a product key" and enter your 25-character key

Accept the license terms and click Next

Continue through the installation wizard, selecting the features and components you need

Complete the installation and restart your machine if prompted
